Dish Network Nagra 2 : The Yellow Card
Smart cards are devices which have an electronic memory, used for various purposes. Some possible uses for a smart card system are: medical records, tracking and storing digital funds, and controlling a network of identification cards. Dish Network is owned by Echostar Communications Corp., and is the second largest direct to home satellite provider in the U.S, giving its services to over 11 million American homes. Last summer, Dish Network introduced a new smart card, ‘Nagra 2’ or ‘Yellow Card’, to keep their piracy problem in tight reins. It’s called a ‘yellow card’ because the card in itself is yellow in color, while the previous one was blue in color. The new smart card, Nagra 2, is the second of its kind to give access security for Dish Network, which has had piracy problems since 1998. There were a number of previous attempts to put a stop to this overwhelming problem, but none succeeded. Nagra 2 is the new encryption algorithm that has been introduced by Dish Network & Bell ExpressVu to fight DSS piracy. Simply put, Nagra 2 is a brand new signal that can only be decrypted using the new smart card. Nagra 2 has a very devastating backlash. If Nagra 2 is employed the current methods of testing will become antiquated and inefficient, thereby leading to no testing equipment sales and no revenue to sponsor sites. With Nagra 2 you can be assured of total privacy and control. You can be assured of security and your own space with Dish Network. Try it and find out for yourself!!
